CDAA®: for professionals with backgrounds in digital assets, finance, banking, asset management and trading, from all functions and levels of responsibility.

You do not need any prior knowledge in Blockchain, Digital Assets and Web3 for both 101 Professional Certificates and Level 1 designations. General knowledge in technology, business, and regulation is of advantage. For Level 2 the knowledge learned and tested in Level 1 is fundamental to earn a passing grade, the reason for which an active Level 1 designation is a prerequisit for enrolling into the Level 2 program.
There are no requirements registering for the both 101 Professional Certificates and Level 1 certifications. Candidates registering for the CBA® or CDAA® Level 2 exams must hold an active Level 1 designation and meet one of the following enrollment requirements: bachelor's degree, undergraduate student, min. of 6 months of work experience in related fields.

The 101 Professional Certificates can only be acquired on edX and might have seasonal discounts. These prices of the Level 1 and 2 programs include the Study Booklet with sample questions.
No, there are no additional costs, as the exam fees of Pearson VUE are already included. A membership to DEC Association is optional and requires a one-time administrative fee of €19.
No, there is no exam, but there are quick-checks after each module, including 3 multiple-choice questions. These quick checks are verifying your attention span during the video lessons and you must have 75% of the questions correct to earn the professional certificate. You are free to decide if you want to take the CBA® or CDAA® exam after the 101 Professional Certificate is completed.
Yes, you get a "Professional Certificate" from both edX and DEC Institute, which is attesting that you have participated and completed the program successfully. Please note that this does not qualify you as either CBA® or CDAA® charterholder. For this, you need to pass the CBA® or CDAA® examination at DEC Institute.

The CBA® and CDAA® are issued mutually by both the DEC Institute and the DEC Association. Both charter, the CBA® and CDAA®, are registered trademarks.
A CBA® and CDAA® charter are designations given to those who have completed the CBA® and CDAA® Program Level 1 & 2, and completed acceptable work experience requirements.
The CBA® and CDAA® Program are two-part exams that test the fundamentals of Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, Digital Assets and Web3 related to technology, business & economics, and legal & regulatory aspects. DEC charterholders earn the right to use the CBA® and CDAA® designation after program completion and one-time membership registration. DEC charterholders are qualified to work in senior and executive positions in the blockchain industry.
Yes, members and charterholders are obligated to adhere to DEC's Code of Conduct and Ethics. This commitment ensures that we maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and security in the industry. By adhering to these guidelines, members and charterholders uphold the values of fairness, integrity, and respect, fostering a vibrant and inclusive ecosystem that benefits all participants and stakeholders. Misconduct can be reported and may result in an exclusion as a member and revocation of the charterholder title.
